PEORIA – Some Peoria area students are drumming up support for a trip to Europe. The Peoria Park District’s “ELITE” Pulses of Hope Drum Line is a group of high school students that performs at community events. The group has been chosen to represent Peoria at a festival in the city’s sister city in Germany. But first, the group must raise enough money to get there.

PEORIA – The latest numbers for retail sales in Central Illinois show surprising growth for the region. Numbers released by Bradley University show a 9.2% jump in sales between the fourth quarter of 2009 and the fourth quarter of last year. Amid all the talk of a sluggish economy, local businesses have seen the customers really start to roll in the last couple of months.
